Last we heard Mindhunter Season three was dead. So what happened?
I miss those serial killer hunters on Netflix. The show Mindhunter was a dark look into the investigation of the real crime. We met the version of the series from serial killers like Ed Kemper and Manson, heard actual testimony, but were never able to solve the ongoing BTK story.
The first seasons of the show kept us on the edge of our seats as we dealt with FBI trials, personal issues, and families. The show ended when Netflix and David Fincher left it in the balance, unsure where it would lead from here. S.Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv have all been released from their contracts, and it seems that this marked the end of the series.
Well, according to a report by GamesRadar, this limbo could have dissolved.
Fincher signed a new deal with Netflix and earned them Oscar nominations for Deficiency. While we know the number of views Mindhunter weren’t outstanding, they have the excitement to bring the show back.
And as reported, an anonymous source said Small screen“Everything I can really tell you about Mindhunter is that there is a conversation going on between Netflix and Fincher. They are discussing the possibility of bringing the show back for a third season. ”
That looks promising, even if it’s just hearsay.
The most intriguing thing the source said is that Fincher seems to be more optimistic about it. We know he was worried about how long it had taken before.
In an interview with vultureFincher said, “We lived there for almost three years. Not year after year, but … probably six or seven months a year … Mindhunter was a lot for me. ”
He also complained about the 90-hour working week.
Time will tell if the show is likely to return. All signs point to Fincher walking around one more time, but it seems like he’s much more excited to be working on new things and not having a year to do something already established. But it’s hard to tell. With his new deal at Netflix, he has the opportunity to take many risks.
