UPDATE, 5:47 am PT: Hello americaGeorge Stephanopoulos, of George Stephanopoulos, told viewers that Michael Strahan “is feeling good and looking forward to coming back here shortly”, after testing positive for Covid-19.
Stephanopoulos said that he and others on GMA had been cleared to work at the studio after finding the contract and following CDC guidelines.
Co-host Robin Roberts said Strahan “wanted us to let you know that he tested positive for Covid. He’s home in quarantine.
Stephanopoulos tested positive for Covid in April, but said at the time he was not showing symptoms. He was caring for his wife, Ali Wentworth, who had tested positive and appeared on GMA to talk about the effects of the virus.

He also appeared only remotely on Sunday Fox NFL last weekend, as this network covered the NFC Championship game. Strahan worked on television broadcasting during the football season for over a dozen years, joining the series after his NFL Hall of Fame playing career ended in 2007.
