Michael B. Jordan Celebrates Chadwick Boseman in SAG Nominations – Deadline

Chadwick Boseman made SAG Awards history on Thursday receiving four nominations for his work in Ma Rainey’s black background and Da 5 Bloods. Celebrate his Black Panther Michael B. Jordan, who honored Boseman with an Instagram post.

“4. Always set the bar higher, ā€¯Jordan wrote on Friday. “I miss you homie.”

The end 42 the actor received nominations for Outstanding Leading Actor and Outstanding Supporting CharacterMa Rainey’s black background andDa 5 bloods, respectively. He was nominated for Best Cast in a Motion Picture for both Netflix films.

Jordan and Boseman both received the SAG Awards in 2019 when Black Panther won the Outstanding Film Cast Award at the annual ceremony. In his Instagram post, Jordan shared photos of Boseman in Spike Lee’s Da 5 bloods and in George C. Wolfe’s Ma Rainey’s black background. In the first Netflix movie, Boseman played Stormin ‘Norman, a leader of the United States Army who died during the Vietnam War. In Ma Rainey’s black background, Boseman appeared opposite Viola Davis as Levee, a wise trumpeter with his own ambitions.

Boseman’s historic day for the SAG nominations came shortly after receiving a post-comedy nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards. Riz Ahmed, Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman and Tahar Rahim are also nominated for the Golden Globes category.
