The Family Man 2 continues to garner rave reviews. Everyone goes gaga over Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni and the team. In fact, some even call it the best Indian web series. The Satya actor dedicated all of this success to his friend and actor, Asif Basra.
For the unknown, Asif would have committed suicide in November 2020 in his house in Dharamshala, in Madhya Pradesh. The first reports indicated that the actor suffered from a mental illness. Unfortunately, his last project turned out to be The Family Man 2, in which he played a counselor.
Speaking on the same topic, Manoj Bajpayee said: “Asif has been a friend of mine for a long time. His passing was a shock to us. I hadn’t even realized he was going through such a mental trauma, that he had to take such a drastic step. Every time I see this scene, I don’t feel comfortable. I don’t think he’s gone either, “DNA reports.
Manoj Bajpayee further dedicated his performance of Srikant from The Family Man 2 to Asif Basra, citing, “We will always remember him with great pleasure and laughter and the happiness we shared with each other. And I personally dedicate this performance to him.
Manoj even shared his experience working with Samantha Akkineni for the first time. “I had a great time working with her. I mean, every time we worked we shared a lot of laughs and cheers and jokes and had a lot of admiration for each other. We were all very aware that the superstar is from the Tamil and Telugu industry and we also knew that she would have her own fan base on the show, ”he added.
