The situation in our country is worsening day by day. Many junior technicians and makeup artists have lost their jobs amid the global pandemic and are living hand to mouth.
Naziya Nadeem Khan, married to a young makeup artist, revealed her condition to the Hindustan Times in an interview and said: “I can’t even tell you how much we are suffering. Ramadan continues, and humare ghar by ration tak nahi hai. We don’t get any help from anyone. In fact, it was before the official 15-day shutdown, when we stopped working. They were just calling two or three junior artists.
Naziya and her husband took out the loan to rent a house and pay the deposit, said: “Sirf juniors ko leke katauti kyun”.
Naushad who affectionately calls himself “ Makeup Dada ” and last worked on Salman KhanAntimHe is also going through a difficult time and has taken out loans from friends. “Aaj main industry regret kar raha hun ke kaunsi mein aa gaya. This is the biggest mistake of my life. I might have been happy in another job and had the satisfaction of having a fixed income. But go back [home] is not the solution. We have to stay here and wait for work, ”says the makeup artist.
FWICE chief BN Tiwari recently got in touch with Salman Khan, who also helped day workers last year and is also working on a plan to help artists across the country.
“We sent a letter to the Chief Minister, asking for help for the daily workers. I also contact other people and I contacted Salman. We must put all our strength to help everyone otherwise it is not possible. We are doing our best, ”says Tiwari.
All the junior artists hope that Salman Khan would certainly help them, but Hemanshu Dadbhawala, vice president of the Association of Junior Artists, thinks otherwise.
“Last year several members of Bollywood, including Salman, Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, came in to help. But this year it looks tough as unki sabki is positioning itself closely with all of the big movies waiting to be released. The stars said they would help, but we can’t say anything for sure, ”Dadbhawala concludes.
Well, we hope junior artists and day workers get the help they need from Bollywood.
