Today’s announcement that CBS crime drama is restarting MacGyver was closing its run at the end of the month, leaving fans and cast members with mixed emotions. Topping the list were series star Lucas Till and Justin Hires, who posted thank you messages to capture their feelings in the moment.
Till left her post on Instagram, including Nellie Andreeva’s Deadline clip that broke the story of the end of the series.
“Where do I start? The last five years have been what I will later consider to be the most formative years of my life,” Till said. “Lots of hard work, lots of love. I made lifelong friendships. , actually no, family. I learned to push myself to new limits, to cross through and through. I was nervous to take the mantle of an icon and you allowed me to enter your homes and accept me. I’m like the Roger Moore of MacGyvers now thanks to your support. MDR. “
He then thanked his colleagues.
“But it’s also a love letter to my cast and my team, to those who have been with us from day one or day 1000, through these oppressive summer days in the heat of Georgia, where the humidity wraps you like a warm sweater down on frosty winter days where the worst part is that no one believes you when you say it’s cold in Georgia. MDR. Thanks to all the people who said we won’t make it through the first 13, through all the hard times you have always brought so much joy to my life, helped me grow exponentially and you have shown me what it means to be a real film crew. This format just doesn’t do enough justice for all I mean, so this might be the first of many chatty posts, but thank you, my new family, from the bottom of my heart thank you. You all.”
He was joined by his comrade Justin Hires to bid farewell.
All good things come to an end. An incredible 5 years old with an incredible cast and team! Thank you to the loyal and engaged fans who watched and supported this show. And HUGE thanks to CBS for employing me for 6 years now haha. We’re still # 1 views in our time slot😎📎 pic.twitter.com/VTpT5vaKHu
