EXCLUSIVE: New British distributor ILY Films has acquired Louise Linton’s comedy-thriller Me you madness for the United Kingdom, France and French-speaking Europe.

The project marks the first film written and directed by actress Linton (Midnight man). The co-star is old Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick.

ILY chose the film from Highland Film Group. STX previously embarked on US rights. Digital release in the UK is scheduled for April 19, 2021, with the launch in France in June.

Me you madness tells the story of a handsome young crook who falls in love with a glamorous woman who lives in a magnificent mansion in Malibu. What he doesn’t realize is that she’s also a serial killer who stalks and kills men with crossbows, chainsaws, and kitchen knives.

Richard Lechartier, CEO of ILY Films said: “As soon as our friends from Highland Film Group showed us Me you madness we knew right away we wanted it. It has all the ingredients: it’s edgy, funny and romantic ”.

Linton, who is the wife of producer and former US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, added, “This film is a very conscious, playful and colorful tribute to the 80s and the films that inspired me such as Lightning dance, Free of any tie, and Dirty dance. It’s glamorous and strong-willed in its decadent style and neon aesthetic. It’s heavily enlivened by hits, choreography, fight sequences and beautiful places dancing along the 80s. Hope this movie makes people laugh at a time when we could all use a little more laughter in it. our lives.

ILY Films’ first UK release was Kill hard, with Bruce Willis. Coming up are Willis-starrer Out of death and Westwick featured Enemy lines.

Lechartier, the former CEO of French producer and distributor Marco Polo, launched ILY last year. The company, which specializes in home delivery, acquires for the UK and other European territories where possible. Me you madness represents one of its first multi-territory acquisitions.
