EXCLUSIVE: LisaGay Hamilton was selected for a key recurring role opposite Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in Lincoln Lawyer, Netflix’s upcoming drama series based on the bestselling novels by Michael Connelly, David E. Kelley and A + E Studios.
Written and produced by Kelley and showrunner Ted Humphrey, Lincoln Lawyer revolves around Mickey Haller (Garcia-Rulfo), an iconoclastic idealist who runs his law firm from the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car as he takes on affairs big and small in the sprawling city of Los Angeles.
Hamilton will play Judge Mary Holder, presiding judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court – the city’s most powerful trial judge and a pragmatic jurist who doesn’t suffer from fools. Mickey Haller finds himself under his strict surveillance after taking charge of the city’s biggest murder trial.

The 10-episode first season is based on the second book of Lincoln Lawyer series, The brass verdict. Kelley and Humphrey produce alongside Connelly and Ross Fineman.
Known for her lead roles on ABC The practice and TNT Men of a certain age, Hamilton recently starred on Broadway in Aaron Sorkin’s Kill a mockingbird, opposite Ed Harris. She also played in the latest features The last bar, Ad Astra, Vice and Handsome boy. His TV credits include Beau Willimon’s Hulu series The first one, with Sean Penn; Hulu Luck, opposite Hugh Laurie; and season 4 of the Netflix drama Card castle, opposite Robin Wright. Hamilton is replaced by Greene & Associates Talent Agency and Greenlight Management.
