Less parking, fans sit in pods – Deadline

From cashless concessions to the advance purchase of parking, the experience at Dodger Stadium will be decidedly different according to the guidelines announced by the team today as they prepare to welcome fans again during the Covid pandemic. 19.

Thanks to revised state guidelines, fans will be allowed to attend outdoor sporting events in California starting April 1, just in time for baseball season. The Dodger home opening is scheduled for April 9.

Los Angeles County is currently on the red level of the state’s blueprint for a safer economy, which sets the rules for businesses and operations during the pandemic. In the red tier, Dodger Stadium will be limited to 20% of its capacity, with participation limited to state residents only. By April 9, the county will likely upgrade to the least restrictive Orange level, which would allow 33 percent capacity, also limited to fans in the state.

In preparation for the fans’ return, the Dodgers released a set of protocols on Wednesday:

-All tickets will be issued digitally and scanned at the stadium entrances from a mobile device.

-Fans will be seated in physically distant groups of two to six people, with unused seats buckled up.

-Social distancing will be encouraged throughout the stadium, with limited capacity in elevators, restrooms and other indoor spaces.

-Only clear bags measuring 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches, or approximately the size of a gallon freezer bag, will be allowed inside. Backpacks, coolers and large handbags will not be allowed, with the exception of medical bags or diaper bags.

-All purchases inside the stadium will be cashless and contactless. For those in need, pay-per-view kiosks will be located throughout the stadium so people can load money onto prepaid Mastercard debit cards.

-Parking must be purchased in advance.

-Face covers will be required for anyone 2 years of age and over and may only be removed by people eating or drinking for them. Neck warmers, bandanas and masks with valves are NOT considered headwear.

-The stadium and parking lots will be completely smoke-free, including a ban on electronic cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products.

-The car parks will have a reduced capacity and will open 90 minutes before the match. The stadium gates will open one hour before the match.

Team officials said hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the stadium and additional staff will be on hand to clean badly affected areas. The bathrooms will have a reduced capacity and will be equipped with
free soap and towel dispensers.

Food and beverage ordering procedures are expected to be announced later. The red level guidelines only allow concessions at headquarters.

Season ticket holders have priority for seats, but single game tickets are expected to go on sale by the end of the month.
