Lea Michele’s pregnancy was “very intense” and “very scary”.
The former Glee welcomed her son Ever last August (20) and had mostly remained out of public view during her pregnancy and for the seven months following the birth of her son.
And now Lea has revealed her pregnancy was a struggle, as she suffered from heavy bleeding throughout her first term and was even rushed to hospital to receive an “extreme” amount of medication and bed rest.
Speaking to Katherine Schwarzenegger for her Before, During and After Maternity series on Instagram Live, Lea explained, “I have had a very, very intense and very scary pregnancy. I’ve never shared my experience with anyone, which I think is something that – now that I’m a mom – I see myself doing so many ways, without sharing for fear of not looking perfect or fair. to be afraid … a lot of my experience.
“It was just awful. It was absolutely, absolutely horrible.
Lea admitted she wasn’t sure if she would carry her baby to term, and found herself at the “lowest” she had ever been as she waited for news that her baby would be healthy.
“I finally announced that I was pregnant, and I still didn’t know if the pregnancy was going to last,” she sighed. “Oh my god, I’m going to cry. I just woke up and was like, ‘I just wanna be a mom now. I want this time. And it was horrible. It was the lowest of my life. We were all really, really scared.
The 34-year-old actress finally got the green light, but said it came “very late in the process of (her) pregnancy.”
Lea also revealed that she wished she had been open about her struggle with pregnancy earlier, but worried about how people reacted on social media.
“That’s the problem with social media… I’ve always been someone who’s afraid to show flaws and that’s something that I don’t think is a positive attribute,” he said. she admitted. “The problem with social media is that people say, ‘Oh, you’re announcing your pregnancy and it’s gorgeous and you’re wearing a nice dress and everything looks great.’
“But it was one of the hardest days of my life, because I was just like, ‘Oh, I’m going to let everyone know I’m pregnant, but that probably won’t work.’ There is this feeling of vulnerability for me which was really difficult. (SVB / BAN / DMC)
