Our country is currently fighting the second most affected wave of COVID in the world; The healthcare system is under enormous pressure with the increasing number of COVID cases every day. As many grapple with medical facilities and severe post-Covid effects, citizens have stepped forward to help in all their capacities, making sure to help those in need. Actor, producer Lakshmi Manchu and his NGO “Teach for Change” are also extending their support and helping 1,000 children who have lost their parents to COVID.

Through this initiative, Lakshmi and Teach for Change will take care of 1,000 children who have lost one or both of their parents to the pandemic. Their team is already on the ground to identify these children. They will help them with education, basic necessities, help them live a better life, support them and help them build a base for themselves.

Lakshmi commented, “Personally, I have helped as many people as possible, trying to find medicine or hospital beds and vice versa. The effect of Covid is more devastating after getting Covid even for families and children who lost their parents during this Covid. At Teach for Change, we’re committed to caring for 1,000 children from low-income households by taking care of their education, school fees, clothes, or whatever else they need. “

On top of that, recently Lakshmi and the Teach for Change volunteers mobilized to help the community of Hyderabad by donating 1,000 meals cooked in hospitals. She added: “The initiative started with the lockdown where most people around hospitals came from small towns and did not have access to food. So we picked a few hospitals where we would distribute 1,000 meals throughout the lockdown. Our Teach for Change team, our volunteers, our team members do it every day and are so grateful that we can feed people and take away their hunger, however little. Please everyone is doing their part no matter what it is, even if they take care of the person around you for the little or more that they need. Now is the time for humanity to come forward. “
