Who doesn’t want Keanu Reeves to be a part of their movie? We don’t even mind that he makes an appearance in every movie on Earth. The same emotion is for both Marvel and DC, who are in an invisible war to acquire the star who is unmistakably a global icon. But while Marvel’s speculation continues to be subconscious and few in number, it looks like DC is leaving no chance of bringing it back to the Extended Universe.
It’s been almost 15 years since Keanu last appeared in a DC movie. The actor ran the supremely successful Constantine at the time. But didn’t come back to pick up the mantle, not even talk about it for all these years. But now, if the latest reports are valid, the John Wick star could be ready for a return to the DCEU. We’re not talking about the animated project, but Reeves onscreen in the flesh. Read on to learn all about this most exciting update of the day.
If you’ve been far from the news, there’s a DC animated film, League of Super-Pets in the works. Keanu Reeves is said to be set to voice a character alongside Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, John Krasinski and more. The character he will voice is yet to be revealed, but the highest bait is on Bat-Cow, simply because that would be hilarious. In the midst of all of this, the information from We Got This Covered got our hands on an exciting update.
The update indicates that Keanu Reeves is in active talks to board the DC Train for several characters in various films. One of them is obviously Constantine, and the possibility of restarting it is the highest given that we are approaching its 15th anniversary. There are no details on the others but the buzz is strong. Meanwhile, in the past, Keanu himself has confessed that he would love to play Wolverine (we know Hugh Jackman’s character is not from DC).
Keanu Reeves, according to the same portal, said, “For me, I’ve always wanted to play Wolverine. It’s too late. It was very well filled. I’m all good with it now. Oh yeah, Frank Miller’s Wolverine, for sure. It had even led to rumors that he would take over Jackman’s mantle as the rights now belong to the Marvel Gods.
