On Friday night, editor and screenwriter Apurva Asrani took to social media to share his respect for filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, who denounced an alleged ongoing campaign against Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan.
“I respect Anubhav Sinha for speaking out against the very obvious campaign against #KartikAaryan. A year ago, I wrote a blog about the bullying suffered by Sushant Singh Rajput. And although I remain on the blacklist of many journalists, I feel like something is changing for the better, ”Apurva Asrani tweeted.
Apurva Asrani’s tweet came in reaction to a tweet from Anubhav Sinha the day before, which read, “And by the way… when producers drop actors or vice versa, they don’t talk about it. It happens all the time. This campaign against Kartik Aaryan seems to me concerted and very bloody and unfair. I respect his calm.
Kartik Aaryan recently made headlines for being controversially removed from Karan Johar’s upcoming production “Dostana 2”. In April, Johar’s banner, Dharma Productions, officially announced that Kartik would no longer star in their upcoming production “Dostana 2”.
“Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to keep a dignified silence, we are going to recast Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon, ”says the announcement.
Kartik Aaryan has refrained from commenting on the matter so far.
