But for her, landing a role in her first film was not child’s play. In fact, she only entered the director of Anurag Basu after an episode of rejection.
Appearing in one of the old interviews on Anupam Kher’s talk show “The Anupam Kher Show – Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai”, Kangana Ranaut said, “I thought I would stay in Bombay (Mumbai) for a month and auditioning for films would help. I was sitting with 10 to 15 girls for a shoot when I met an agent who took me to Mahesh Bhatt’s office. I met Mohit Suri and Anurag who saw my photos. I then auditioned for a role. But Bhatt saab said: “This girl is very young, barely 17-18 years old. We need a mature woman of at least 28-29 years old for her next film. Then I heard that they had signed Shiney Ahuja and Chitrangada Singh for their next film.
Kangana Ranaut added: “Suddenly, one day after two months, Anurag called me desperately and told me that they had to leave immediately for an outdoor shoot and that they were unable to cross Chitrangada. So Anurag said, “Chalo chalo ab tumhara hi make-up karke thodi badi dikhayenge, tum hi kar lo film (Now we’re going to do your makeup to make you look a little bit mature, and now you’re just doing the movie”. how I got ‘Gangster’ ”
The movie Gangster was released in 2006. In the movie, Kangana Ranaut was seen playing a bar girl who fell in love with two men – first, a notorious gangster, tried by Shiney Ahuja, then a cop Aakash. , played by Emraan Hashmi.
