Jason Clarke, Michelle Monaghan and Jai Courtney to star in ‘Black Site’ – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Jason Clarke (Dark zero thirty), Michelle Monaghan (Impossible mission) and Jai Courtney (The suicide squad) are set to star in an action thriller Black site producers of John wick, Bombay Hotel and Bait.

Black site focuses on a group of officers based in a top-secret labyrinthine black CIA site who must fight for their lives in a cat-and-mouse game against Hatchet, a brilliant and infamous high-value inmate. When Hatchet escapes, his mysterious and deadly program has profound and disastrous consequences.

Production is slated to begin on the Gold Coast, Australia in February 2021, with first-time director Sophia Banks on board to direct Jinder Ho’s screenplay.

Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Mike Gabrawy produce for Asbury Park with Todd Fellman for Story Bridge Films. Andrew C. Coles of The Mission Entertainment is executive producer. Jonathan Fuhrman, Asbury Parkco-president of production, will also be executive producer, as will Randy Simon.

John wick and Sicario producers Iwanyk and Lee started Asbury Park late last year and established industry vet Gabrawy (Bombay Hotel) to run the action and thriller tag.

Rocket Science manages slate sales and has production agreements for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Leonine), Spain (YouPlanet), Benelux (The Searchers), Greece, Turkey and the Middle East (Italy), Portugal (Lusomundo), Poland and the former Yugoslavia (Monolith), Taiwan (Moviecloud), South Africa (FilmFinity) and Israel (Forum). Additional offers for Black site were produced in Scandinavia (Scanbox), Australia (Madman) and Japan (Happinet).

Former fashion stylist Banks has directed a series of commercials and shorts, including Not registered, which premiered at Tribeca in 2019. Its follow-up, Proxy, currently playing in festivals.

Producer Erica Lee said of Banks: “We were huge fans of her shorts and were looking for the right project to collaborate on. Sophia has a distinct visual approach and her perspective Black site blew us away.
