Singer-songwriter Arlo Parks said she was still sure her family would love and accept her when she told them she was bisexual when she was 17.
“I am a little lucky because I have always been comfortable and I grew up in a place, in terms of family, where I was approached with love. I knew that no matter what, I would always be loved and accepted. For most people, that’s not how it works, ”Parks said in an interview with Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column, according to an article on contactmusic.com.
Arlo Parks added that everything went well.
“It was very natural. Of course, it’s still a little scary, but I felt like I was coming back to myself. My parents and friends were all very understanding. It didn’t even feel like a massive explosive moment. Everyone was like ‘okay’ which I’m really grateful for, ”she said.
