IMDbPro Partners With Easterseals To Create Visibility For Entertainment Professionals In The Disability Community – Deadline

Easterseals Southern California has once again teamed up with IMDbPro for the final phase of their ongoing work to support and create visibility and opportunities for entertainment professionals in the.

This is the second year in a row that IMDbPro has sponsored the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge, which is currently underway. The weeklong directing competition offers filmmakers – with and without disabilities – the opportunity to collaborate to tell unique stories highlighting disability in its many forms through short films. The challenge will be judged by a wide selection of influential voices within the entertainment industry, including IMDb Founder and CEO Col Needham.

The finalists will be announced on Thursday April 29 and the virtual awards ceremony will take place on Thursday May 6. IMDbPro offers winners a one-year subscription and the option to have their film featured in a video playlist on the IMDb homepage.

IMDbPro and Easterseals have held sessions with entertainment professionals from the disability community to ensure they are optimizing their IMDb profiles. The site offers professionals the ability to self-identify as a member of the disabled community, as part of a suite of tools to manage and present their IMDb profile.

Additionally, using the new IMDbPro Discover tool, members can find other professionals to hire and collaborate with, including talents who have identified themselves as members of the disability community as well as those who have been finalists and winners. of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. IMDbPro Discover will continue to be optimized based on feedback provided by Easterseals and other professionals in the disability community. This takes the needle a step further when it comes to the inclusion of the disability community.
