IBC is closed from December 3rd to 6th this year.
IBC is returning as a personal trade show which is great news for those who are eager to attend the Amsterdam event which showcases the latest technology from exhibitors along with several educational conferences to improve your cinematic skills. The IBC 2021 is for the 3rd-6th Planned December 2021.
“After a period of consultation with the industry, the IBC Partnership Board has agreed that December is the best date in terms of industry safety and readiness for engagement,” said IBC Managing Director Michael Crimp. “Our conclusion is based on the results of the most recent IBC exhibitor and visitor surveys and macro evidence for opening up Europe to business.”
The show’s organizers note that “health and safety” were key factors in the decision to return. IBC surveyed visitors and exhibitors, and two-thirds of respondents said that stricter protocols to protect the health of visitors would encourage them to participate. It’s not clear if IBC requires a vaccination certificate to enter, but they have referred to this survey Respondents preferred this option the most.
Adds Crimp, “The IBC is clearly safest when attendees are vaccinated. We believe that key services such as airports and airlines as well as hotels will run smoothly and will be able to offer an optimized service by December.”
Several regular Exhibitors have already signed up to showcase products like Adobe, Atomos and Blackmagic Design, but others like ARRI, Canon and Sony have yet to commit. Perhaps more companies will return to exhibit as the event approaches.
