“I want to collaborate with as many new filmmakers as possible” – Ayushmann Khurrana: Bollywood News

Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana has a penchant for discovering breathtaking films and roles. No wonder it is called today “the poster of content cinema” by the media and the public. Given the freshness of his film choices, his projects automatically become the most anticipated films to watch. A look at Ayushmann’s career chart makes it clear that he gravitates around new storytellers and directors, and he ultimately reveals his reason for doing so.

Ayushmann says: “I have always sought to collaborate with new storytellers because they seek to bring a new voice and a different vision to our cinema. New directors or young filmmakers are looking to make their mark in the industry and they always make high risk content decisions that I really like because I’ve always wanted to be very risky with my film choices and of characters.

Ayushmann has worked with beginning directors like Sharat Kataria, Hitesh Kewalya, Raaj Shaandilyaa, RS Prasanna, Akshay Roy, Vibhu Puri and also collaborated with young directors like Nupur Asthana, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Amit Sharma and Amar Kaushik.

He says, “I have always been a firm believer that we have to be bold in our approach because audiences, who are exposed to brilliant content from all over the world, only want to watch new things. I congratulate these filmmakers for expressing their views and opinions boldly and freely through their cinema. They have absolute talent and they want to explode in the entertainment world and as an artist, who is constantly on the lookout for disturbing and disruptive content, these people are always on my radar. “

Ayushmann is always on the lookout for new and brilliant filmmakers. He says, “I want to collaborate creatively with as many of them as possible because they are massive risk takers, they are visionaries who want to change the way people consume content. I have always believed that without risk, nothing new or exciting could come out. Our industry needs more disruption and these filmmakers are brilliantly demonstrating it. Their talent is exceptional and I am always impressed with them.

The actor thanks these new filmmakers for offering him projects that have become among the most beautiful gems in the history of Indian cinema. He says, “It’s a privilege to have collaborated with brilliant minds and I think I was fortunate that they were delighted to collaborate with me too. Without them I would never have had Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Dream Girl, Badhaai Ho, Bala, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Meri Pyari Bindu. “

In 2021, Ayushmann collaborates again with director Anubhuti Kashyap for the first time in Doctor G and he looks forward to what they create together. The versatile star says, “I’m collaborating again with first-time director Anubhuti Kashyap to Doctor G and can’t wait to start working with her. She’s a restless storyteller who has extraordinary vision with this film and I think we’ll be able to present something unique, engaging and immensely entertaining for audiences.
