The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a serious crisis in the lives of almost everyone. Whether financially, mentally or physically; most people have suffered a lot. But, today we are talking about Atul Virkar, who rose to fame with many Marathi and Hindi films and also worked in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He is going through a major financial crisis due to the lockdown because his son was diagnosed with the rarest rare disease.
Atul’s son Priyansh is not even 2 years old and is the 320th patient among 400 patients worldwide to be diagnosed with AHDS (Allan-Herndon-Dudley syndrome). The actor has spoken with all his heart about the problem he is going through. Keep scrolling to find out more.
According to an interview with The Times Of India, Atul Virkar spoke about his time of difficulty. Taarak actor Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah said, “I have struggled a lot in life from the start. I was a teenager when my father passed away. I used to stay in Mangaon (a few kilometers from Mahad), and I traveled from Mangaon to Mumbai for filming and work. I am also a pundit. People know me as a pundit in the industry because I’ve helped everyone bring the Muhurat to the movies, and I’ve played a lot of poo on and off screen. There was a period in my life when I sold newspapers, Agarbatti, Papad to survive. It was a really difficult time for me and my family ”.
Speaking about his son’s condition, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Atul Virkar said, “I won’t say the lockdown affected me because it affected us all. There is a difference in my case. I have a responsibility towards my child, who is currently struggling hard against the disease. My son cannot stand up or do anything like any ordinary child. He is still lying on the bed. It is the rarest rare disease. We are doing treatment for him, but there is no medicine available for it in India. I have learned from some doctors that the only way to treat my child is to order medicine in the Netherlands. It is one of the countries that makes drugs for HDHD patients, and I work hard, push my limits and organize funds to get my son treated as quickly as possible.
Atul added that he had no expectations from anyone, but wanted his friends in the industry to support him during this difficult time. He wants to work hard to be financially stable and help his son recover.
Our hearts go out to Taarak actor Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Atul Virkar, and we hope he will recover soon.
