TV star actress Debina Bonnerjee is also a social media influencer and she uses her YouTube channel Debina Decodes to talk about beauty and lifestyle, among other things. Lately, she has also taken the initiative to help local and aspiring fashion brands reach a wider audience amid the pandemic.
“I graduated in communications and my specialization is advertising and visualization. So writing creative content and visuals is part of my education. I never planned on becoming an actress but, yes, I was in modeling as a teenager. It’s great how my career has unfolded. But playing the role doesn’t allow me to explore my skills in creative content, writing, visualization – everything I learned in class. I thought why not make people aware of what is behind our glowing skin, beautiful hair, and how important it is to live an organic lifestyle. Here I am not selling a product but the idea of living a healthy lifestyle, ”Debina told IANS.
“With the global pandemic, we all know how important living a healthy lifestyle is. Besides, I’m interested in this stuff. I read a lot of books, take online classes, and when I feel like I have enough knowledge to share, I do. These days, I take facial yoga classes, ”the actress shared.
Lately, Debina Bonnerjee has also taken an initiative to help local and aspiring fashion designers reach a wider audience.
“The idea is to bring together consumers and fashion designers. There are new, budding local fashion brands struggling to reopen the business. When a business closes, it’s not just the owner, but many employees who find themselves out of work. So it’s important to keep a business going, ”Debina said.
Debina Bonnerjee continued: “On the other hand, there is a part of people who sit at home and kill their boredom while shopping online. So I thought about bringing them together using my social media platforms. I can wear these dresses, do a photoshoot, and put it on my Instagram. I will not charge any designer for it and will return the dress as well. Usually social media influencers charge money for this, but I think this is the time when I should be supporting these designers, instead of making money from them. Once normalcy returns, we’ll think about business interests. “
