International pop sensation Ronan Keating understands why Grammy-winning superstar Beyonce infuses his songs and videos with an Indian flavor, and says he hopes to someday work with a Bollywood star or singer.

“I have been fortunate enough to travel to India several times over the years, touring with Boyzone and alone. I clearly remember going to the MTV Awards. It was amazing, ”Keating told IANS in an exclusive interview.

“I love to travel and having the opportunity to come to India has been a wonderful experience. I liked it. The people were amazing. They were so warm, caring and genuine. I had a real connection when I was there with people, and I would love to come back, ”added the singer, who performed in India on MTV Immies 2005.

After his brief affair with India, the singer wants to forge a deeper bond with the country by working with Indian talents.

“I would love to get in touch with a Bollywood artist and play, sing, shoot a music video… The colors, the performance, the energy,” said the 43-year-old singer.

Recalling one incident, he said, “I remember when I was at the MTV Awards there was this guy. He was like the Indian version of Justin Timberlake. He was an incredible singer and dancer. He had a whole troupe of dancers with him. He was amazing. I do not know his name.

“I remember seeing that and thinking ‘wow’ and then I watched a lot of shows when I was there, and saw the local artists playing, the colors. You can see why Beyonce drew so much inspiration from dance routines and costumes and flavors. You can see it was taken straight from an Indian artist. I would love to collaborate with someone, ”Keating added.

With the world gradually opening up after the pandemic, Keating is ready to reconnect with his fans again. “It’s a wonderful thing for me to be able to connect with my audience…. (In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic), I couldn’t see my audience, ”he shared.

In an attempt to reconnect with fans again, Keating has teamed up with the GoNuts platform. “I haven’t been able to tour, no concerts, nothing in the last 12 months and it’s a great way and a great platform for me to connect with my audience and let them know that I am still here, and that I am alive. There are millions of people across India who have bought my music and come to my shows over the years. It’s a wonderful way for me to communicate with them. Because I can’t travel at the moment.
