Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin says that while he has always tried to choose a variety of characters, it is quite normal to get the same kind of roles in Bollywood.
“It’s normal that when something works well (you get the same roles), like after ‘Mardaani’ does well, antagonistic parts have arisen. After “Chhichhore”, the university, life in a youth hostel, the sports stud (roles) came. Not to say that if I refuse (these roles) it is because of a bad scenario. It’s just that I wouldn’t want to do it then, ”he told IANS.
Tahir Raj Bhasin adds that filmmakers prefer casting actors in genres that have already worked for them.
“It happens with every actor. It is normal for a filmmaker to choose an area that has proven itself. I like to take risks and explore different aspects and my own acting talent. That’s what interests me, ”he says.
“There is enough diverse work out there. If someone watches a period film, they will watch Manto, if it is a college film, they will see Chhichhore. For a lot of new actors, unfortunately, the first thing is the visual, ”he says. However, he urges them to show off their acting skills on social media.
“You can break this, get out of your comfort zone. The tools are in your hands. Make selfie videos on Instagram or shoot a little movie on your phone and break the perception. It depends on you as an actor, ”says Tahir Raj Bhasin.
Tahir adds that he doesn’t play the same roles because it gets boring for him,
“Some people like to be safe playing the same roles. I get bored easily, so playing different parts works for me. It’s a conscious decision to do something different, so I don’t feel like I did that last month too, ”he says.
Tahir will be seen in the films “Looop Lapeta” and “83” in the coming months, as well as in the web series “Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein”.
