Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah aired its first episode in 2008, and it will end 13 in the next few months. Those who are here after reading the title are very familiar with “Gada Electronics”, ie the Jethalal store (Dilip Joshi) on the show.
We’re going to take you around the store to find out how the manufacturers have actually helped a local business grow from the start of the show. It started when the makers approached a local electronics store owner named Shekhar Gadiyar in Khar for loaning out his shop to shoot specific footage.
In her video, actress Garima Goel visited the electronics store, which was eventually renamed Gada Electronics after the popularity of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In a conversation with her, the owner revealed that he receives more visitors than customers.
Shekhar Gadiyar, in the same video, when asked if he was initially afraid to lend his showroom for the filming of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, said: “I was not afraid of fly, but due to the nature of the products in my store, the only fear I had was scratches and dents. But, touchwood, it’s been over 12 years, and there hasn’t been a single incident like this. They were there for a day of filming, and it’s been 12 years since. I turn around and look without realizing it’s been so long. It’s a good association.
He also added: “Smart customers are visiting us. If there’s a filming going on in the store, they see it and don’t come in, saying they’ll visit once it’s over.
On how Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has really helped his sales, he said, “We get too many visitors. More than customers, we have visitors now. But there are visitors who buy things from us as souvenirs. They click on our brand photo and video call their family to let them know they have something from Gada Electronics. “
