PIERS MORGAN’s GOOD MORNING BRITAIN co-host SUSANNA REID insisted “the shows continue,” while presenting the program for the first time since her shocking decision to quit.
The outspoken broadcaster resigned his job as the show’s presenter on Tuesday (09 March 21), after an argument on live television that morning with meteorologist Alex Beresford over his handling of the Oprah interview Winfrey of the Duchess of Sussex.
Piers took to Twitter on Tuesday night to tell her followers he ‘trusted his gut’ as he left Good Morning Britain, and as she joined Ranvir Singh for the first Good Morning Britain following Wednesday morning’s scandal (March 10, 21), Susanna had a message for the spectators.
“Piers Morgan and I disagreed on a lot of points and that dynamic was one of the things viewers loved about the show,” she said. “He is without a doubt an outspoken, stimulating, opinionated and disruptive broadcaster. He has a lot of reviews and he has a lot of fans.
“You will know that I disagree with him about Meghan’s interview. He himself clarified his comments about his sanity on the show yesterday.
“There are a lot of voices on GMB and everyone has a say, but now Piers has decided to quit the program. Some of you will clap and some will boo. “
She concluded: ‘Piers Morgan has been my primary partner, Monday through Wednesday, for over five years, and during Brexit and the pandemic, and other issues, he has been a voice for many of you and a voice that many of you have. railed against. It will certainly be very different, but the shows continue, and so on.
Susanna was also quick to point out to viewers that Ranvir’s involvement in Wednesday’s episode had already been arranged and that she had just “swapped seats” to become his co-host for the day following the departure of Piers Morgan.
ITV has yet to announce Morgan’s replacement. (SVB / WN / SVB)
