Gravitas picks up on Dakota Gorman’s ‘All About Sex’ directorial debut – Movie Briefs – Deadline

Gravitas Ventures acquired the North American rights All about sex, the directorial debut feature for rising youngster Dakota Gorman, who wrote the comedy, which is loosely based on her own experiences dealing with depression and the general anxieties that accompany aging youth. Gorman also stars alongside Natalee Linez, Emma Deckers, Dillon Lane, Matt Angel and Chris Costanzo.

The generational film follows the lives of three mid-1920s friends – Sage (Gorman), Casey (Linez) and Morgan (Deckers) – caught in the grip of quarter-life crises as they meander through traps messy, embarrassing and confusing that comes with “grown-up”.

All about sex is from Salt & Light Films in association with Warrior Woman Productions. Nicole Rio and Kelly Bumford produced, while Carlos George and Ken Johnson served as executive producers. Myriad Pictures will distribute the film internationally and present it to international buyers at the EFM.

Gorman is currently in pre-production on his next directing project, Late blooms, written by Sam Kozé and Gary Alan Wright.

Jones works

Taja V Simpson (Oval), Swati Kapila (The Big Bang Theory), and Lisa Ann Walter (Grey’s Anatomy) complete the cast of the drama about child abuse, Whose child, from director Roxy Shih. Anna Schafer plays the role of a public relations officer at a life-changing children’s hospital when assigned to a young boy named Billy, who is in a coma and barely clings to life. When she realizes the incident was about domestic violence, she takes matters into her own hands to overthrow a system that would otherwise have failed her. Shih, Autumn Federici and Jake Helgren produced under their banner The Ninth House. Simpson is replaced by Stewart Talent; Kapila by Greene & Associates Talent Agency; Walter by Bresler-Kelly & Associates.


Greenwich artists

Greenwich Entertainment obtained the North American distribution rights to Super Frenchie, director Chase Ogden’s first documentary. The photo offers a glimpse into the life of French professional skier and BASE jumper Matthias Giraud, also known as the Super Frenchie. It is scheduled to hit theaters and digital platforms on March 26. The doc follows Matthias as he dares ever more dangerous stunts while falling in love and starting a family. The story takes a terrifying turn when Matthias suffers a catastrophic accident days before the birth of his first child. Ogden, Jason Reid, Kiah S. Jones and Andy McDonough produced. McDonough negotiated the acquisition agreement with Ed Arentz and Andy Bohn of Greenwich.
