Grace Gummer (Mr. Robot) was chosen as a series regular against Demián Bichir and Anika Noni Rose in Leave the one on the right in, Pilot of Showtime’s vampire drama A way creator Andrew Hinderaker, who serves as showrunner; Seith Man, who will lead; and Tomorrow Studios.
Based on the 2004 bestselling novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist and its 2008 Swedish film adaptation, the series revolves around Mark (Bichir) and his 12-year-old daughter, whose lives changed forever 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Locked up at 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor leads a closed life, able to only go out at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the minimum amount of human blood she needs to stay alive. .
Gummer will play Claire, the heiress to a pharmaceutical empire and is a brilliant scientist who turned down the family’s billion dollar business to pursue a more humble and noble career in disease research. But her life is turned upside down when her sick and estranged father summons her to her home and reveals a terrible secret.
Rose will play the next door neighbor to Mark, a homicide detective.

Leave the one on the right in is described as a high genre drama, which turns a naturalistic lens on human fragility, strength and compassion. The pilot is produced by Hinderaker, Mann and Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements for Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between Adelstein and ITV Studios. Bichir will serve as producer on the potential series.
Gummer, who was a regular Mr. Robot and Existing, co-stars in upcoming limited series Peacock Dr Death. She also recently appeared in FX’s A teacher and came back to Nat Geo’s The hot zone. Gummer is replaced by CAA and anonymous content.
