No one, just no one could really see it coming. Godzilla vs Kong is the last Hollywood movie to hit screens and it surprised everyone. Even if we had first expected Principle then Wonder Woman 1984 to do the trick (both of which brought some footsteps but still largely underperformed), it is Godzilla vs. Kong who did the unthinkable by turning out to be that movie that brought audiences back to theaters despite the times.
Although the official collections for the film have yet to be declared, the first indications are that the superhero action film (with monsters in the middle of the business) has managed to collect. 6.40 crore At the box office.
In times when movies struggle to do this kind of business on the weekends, it’s remarkable that Godzilla vs. Kong managed to do that and that too arriving in the middle of the week.
Additionally, there was also no promotional and marketing blitzkrieg and little ado surrounding the release of the Hollywood biggie. Godzilla vs. Kong, especially on a Wednesday. Still, the public got a whiff of it and the results were there to be seen with many displays running at full capacity, under clearances.
Things will only get better for the film from now on as word of mouth begins to spread. Once that happens, it may not be possible to stop the movie until Holi, which is a statutory holiday and falls on Monday.
