Harry Potter Spin-off Fantastic beasts 3 put production on hold after a ‘team member’ tested positive for coronavirus, Deadline can confirm.
Warner Bros sent us the following statement:
“A member of the Fantastic beasts 3 has tested positive for COVID-19. The diagnosis was confirmed following mandatory and ongoing testing that all production employees receive, and the team member is currently in isolation. Out of prudence, Fantastic beasts 3 has stopped production and will be saved in accordance with safety instructions. “
It’s unclear who the crew member is and if filming is stopped as they are a crucial part of the production (like what happened with Robert Pattinson and The batman) or if they were in contact with other crew members and WB must avoid an outbreak.
The film is set at Warner Bros Leavesden, just outside London.
The photo hit a previous bump in the road when WB made the decision to fire Johnny Depp from the project after losing his legal battle with the UK newspaper The sun. Mads Mikkelsen was reenacted as Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald.
Due to delays, the film has been pushed back to a summer 2022 release.
