EXCLUSIVE: Sajid Khan Could Direct Awara Paagal Deewana Sequel, Producer Firoz Nadiadwala Says: Bollywood News

Director Sajid Khan has kept a low profile since he was accused during the MeToo movement in India in 2018. However, last year in September, producer Firoz Nadiadwala confirmed that he was working with Sajid Khan for one of his next productions. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Nadiadwala confirmed that Sajid Khan could lead the sequel to Awara Paagal Deewana.

Vikram Bhatt director Awara Paagal Deewana is a comedy film that was released in 2002. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Johny Lever, Om Puri, Aftab Shivdasani, Jackie Shroff, among others. Firoz Nadiadwala has confirmed that the sequel to the film is in talks right now. When asked if Sajid Khan will direct the sequel to Awara Paagal Deewana, he said: “Sajid is like a little brother and I really respect him. I like him very much as a person and a director. This thing is also happening, it is under development. But we’re definitely planning a sequel to Awara Paagal Deewana.

When asked if Sajid was going to direct it, he said, “Yes, if the script comes out correctly and he approves as well.” Speaking of the film’s cast, he added, “Well, our obvious first pick will be Akshay ji, Paresh ji, Mr. Johny Lever, Suniel ji. That’s how you get a punch.”
