EXCLUSIVE: “No character that I have played until today was easy. I had my own battles “- Mrunal Thakur: Bollywood News

Mrunal Thakur who made his Hindi film debut with Love Sonia continued to impress audiences with his performance in films like Batla House, Super 30, and Ghost stories. Without the pandemic, we would have seen her in the long-awaited film Toofaan with also Farhan Akhtar. Currently, she has some interesting projects in the pipeline, including Jersey and Aankh Micholi, all different genres, and I can’t wait for audiences to watch them. In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Mrunal Thakur spoke about her performances and what keeps her motivated.

Mrunal has been a part of different genres of movies and all of his upcoming movies are in various genres as well. When asked which genre she found the most difficult to break into, she replied, “What I do is choose a character that is not easy. I like adventure even when I make films. I want to learn something new. I want to surpass myself and challenge myself. No character that I have played until today was easy. I have had my own battles. These struggles have become a source of strength.

“When it comes to Sonia (of Love Sonia) she was so vulnerable and I was so vulnerable because it was my first movie. I was so believed. I didn’t even know if I was good or not. I was just doing my job thinking this was the last movie I would be on. Wherever it is Batla lodge. I had never been a Delhi girl or a Patna girl. Being a student who has always moved from place to place, being the daughter of a government employee, I did not gain this confidence. So I gain self-confidence through these characters that I play. Even though it’s difficult at the initial stage while I’m playing, I think the second half becomes so engaging and fascinating that by the end of the program I feel like it’s a 10th farewell and I have to say goodbye to this character, ”she added.

Mrunal also pays tribute to her entire team for motivating her to perform when she is unable to decipher certain scenes or dialogues. “I remember when I was on the set of Toofaan, there were scenes where I couldn’t even deliver my dialogue. It was difficult, so it was never a ruin. This is where my whole team comes in and plays a crucial role where they support and motivate and they always push and that’s why I would say I’m blessed to have directors like Tabrez Noorani or Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Vikas Bahl, Nikkhil Advani, or Karan Johar. They always pushed me to do something or something that I had never done in my life. I think these are the experiences that I continue to bring to my next project and that allow me to abandon myself, ”she added.

In the limited number of films she has made, she has worked with some of the best filmmakers and co-actors. Speaking of the advice she received, Mrunal said, “I am emotionally affected very quickly. Eg. I see an accident in the street and then I am hit all week or day. It takes me months to get out of it. So no matter what happens in my personal life, it shows up on the screen. I realized that it shouldn’t really reflect on the screen whether I’m happy or unhappy. This is a piece of advice I got from my DoP and the second big piece of advice from a co-actor was “Mrunal, be as honest as you are today and forever because in the middle of the trip where you can be up and down, people forget who we are. We get lost, we lose our integrity. Sometimes there are situations where we end up making movies for the sake of movies or we end up making movies. compromise somewhere or the other. We make films that don’t have good roles for lack of work but we never do that. Never understand, never get lost and always be honest with yourself “.

Mrunal, however, has no inhibitions and is open to new possibilities and challenges. “I just want to explore and have no inhibitions when it comes to working because people say, ‘Hey, I’m going to work only with this person or I’m only going to work with that genre.’ I don’t have these inhibitions. I’m open. I really want to surprise myself more than the audience. The day I stop surprising myself, I’ll become monotonous and I don’t want that. I get bored easily. I never want my audience to be bored because of me, ”she concluded.
