EXCLUSIVE: ARRahman opens up on misconceptions about him in industry: Bollywood News

Oscar-winning and Golden Globe-winning music composer AR Rahman is unquestionably one of the most talented musicians in the world. He composed the music for several films in India for different languages. However, the recent work of AR Rahman is not often seen in the Hindi film industry. Recently in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, AR Rahman has opened up about misconceptions about him in the industry.

Opening up on the misconceptions and rumors about him that he encountered, Rahman said, “I was doing the Imtiaz Ali movies. Till Tamasha, I made the films and then I started these two films. So people thought he was going to produce his films and do his own thing. It could have been a misconception. Another misconception is “Oh! He’s in Hollywood. He does a lot of things.

“Another misconception is that we don’t need him, we have five other composers, we can get the content. The big music companies are doing it now. If they say “I want AR Rahman” they say “no no he’s in Hollywood now.” etc., take these five composers. I have these five hit songs. I can give you a package, I can also finance the films ”. That sort of thing. It might be rumors, but I’ve heard some crazy things. I felt like sometimes you had to express what you got. Nothing negative. Sometimes we are all in our different worlds. So it was important that people know where I am. I am with them and the promise to make music is still there, ”he added.

ARRahman is eagerly awaiting the release of 99 Songs. The film will mark Rahman’s debut as a writer and producer. The film is set to hit theaters on April 16.
