Hollywood star Ethan Hawke, who has been on projects like Before Sunris, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Sinister and more, is set to make his debut in the world of comic book adaptations. The actor has been hired to play a central role in the upcoming Marvel superhero series, Moon Knight.
According to a report, the actor will try out the role of villain opposite Oscar Isaac in the series. Read on to find out more.
As reported by hollywoodreporter.com, Ethan Hawke will make his debut in comic book adaptations as well as the superhero realm with this role of Moon Knight. Hawke will play the main villain of the series, while Isaac is the protagonist. The creators plan to start production of the show in March in Budapest.
Moon Knight tells the story of Marc Spector, an elite soldier and mercenary who decides to fight crime after becoming the human avatar of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. Spector, a former CIA agent, was almost killed by a terrorist named Bushman. His life is saved by the Moon God Khonshu. He continues to kill Bushman and becomes Moon Knight. The character first appeared in the August 1975 comic book issue, Werewolf By Night # 32.
Marc Spector is a mercenary who has many alter egos – including taxi driver Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant – to better fight the criminal underworld. His character is described as having multiple personalities and a fractured mental state.
It is not known at this point if Ethan Hawke was signed up for Moon Knight’s Nemesis Bushman trial.
Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will lead the superhero series.
