EXCLUSIVE: Country music mainstays Gabriel Vasquez and Roman White respectively executive producer and director of Netflix’s upcoming faith-based musical film A week away, signed with UTA and launched their new Rove Productions banner. They will be based in Nashville.
A week away, who bowed on March 26, stars Kevin Quinn and Bailee Madison in the story of a troubled teenager (Quinn) who, after an argument with the law, must choose between juvenile detention and a camp in Christian summer. He chooses the later and falls in love with a camp regular (Madison) who helps him regain a sense of belonging to the last place he expected.
Vasquez, the founder of Vazquez Entertainment who has worked with musical artists such as Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, Building 429, Newsboys and Jaci Velasquez, is the co-creator and producer of the religious musical.

White, who has directed music videos for such figures as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Josh Groban and Maren Morris, among others, produces and directs the photo. With Rove Productions, they plan to focus on films, musicals, Broadway stage productions, animated feature films, world tours, and television and literary properties.
The two already have film industry credits, with White writing and directing the 2015 musical picture. Summer forever and Vasquez co-producer of the 2015 thriller Wild flowers.
White wrote and directed his first film, “Summer Forever” (Relativity and Disney) and has been successful in commercials and films since.
“We are delighted to be able to join forces and combine our more than 20 years of experience and talent under one roof,” said Vasquez. “A week away is just the beginning of the type of films we see the Rove Umbrella create, combining our love of music and history in new ways. “
Adding White: “We bring to the table years of creating and curating artists, music, music videos, games, SFX and live events. Cinema is now the next natural progression for both of us. We are delighted to be based in Nashville and delighted to be represented by Heartland and the amazing UTA team. We have several new projects in several stages of development and pre-production and we look forward to this next season for Rove. “
