Police, a character who has made one of the most illustrious trips to the cinema, often caricatured, quite often handled responsibly. It was in 2013 that we saw a filmmaker take the same thing and introduce an angle never imagined. We saw a gay policeman take over in Mumbai Police star Prithviraj Sukumaran, led by Rosshan Andrrews, who is now preparing for Salvation. A game changer must say.

With idol Dulquer Salmaan, Rosshan Andrrews and his highly skilled writers Bobby and Sanjay are back with what he does best, educating and entertaining. Not that Mumbai Police was one of the most perfectly directed films of its time, but was certainly more alert than its contemporaries. As Andrews now returns to the police with his team, we’re excited to know what we want. And with Dulquer on board, our anticipation has definitely skyrocketed. Not to forget, it’s not just this one movie (Mumbai Police) that brought the three together in one; all of them also have notable gems in their kitten separately.

Below is everything we have come to expect from Salute as they prepare to enter the production phase and create a wonder for us.

If you’re not familiar with the exceptional work of Rosshan Andrrews and writing duo Bobby-Sanjay, take a little time and browse their filmographies. These men are known to have crafted intriguing plots, and this was quite visible in the Mumbai Police Department as well. A man there to find his own identity while solving a murder mystery. Salute is once again about a cop, and we think there’s a biting plot waiting.

While entertainment, the three, including the director and the writers, have been known to pack their films with messages and not make them preachers. The Mumbai police chief was gay and a policeman; how many taboos are broken, count. Consider that the duo who wrote Salut are the same two who wrote Uyare by Parvathy Thirovothu. Maybe this clearly shows how seamlessly these three people can include their messaging. The question is, what message will this film have?

Let’s move on to entertainment. It’s a police drama, how will there be no twists and turns? Until it turns out to be a movie slice of life. Amid all the awareness and mystery, we saw Rosshan and Bobby-Sanjay have twists and turns in their stories that were unpredictable. Hi must have them too.
