Dragon Ball Super features Goku in dismay after Merus’ death.
Dragon Ball has never had a problem increasing Goku’s power. The series has reshaped it over and over again when new enemies arrive, and that hasn’t changed for Dragon Ball Super.
Before the anime ended, fans kept an eye on Goku as he used Mastered Ultra Instinct. Now the hero has further solidified the use of such power against Moro, but a note given by Beerus has fans looking ahead to the future of the franchise.
If you’re stuck with Dragon Ball, you’ve seen its latest issue live. The update registered on Goku after Merus’s death, and the angel’s sacrifice was intense. His emotional farewell forced Goku to re-examine his reasons for fighting Moro, and after he accepted his anger, he unlocked the ability to use Perfected Ultra Instinct at will.
You can already guess how the battle was after that. Moro was as arrogant as ever, but Goku was quick to silence the villain.
In fact, he beat the bad guy by around a ton, and it was there that fans saw Beerus give some weird compliments.
“He’s fine-tuning his moves more and more,” the God of Destruction shared before adding, “Perfectly done. He respects what he deserves. The way he fights is divine.”
This last line is the one that has fans scratching their heads. The idea of divine power is no stranger to Dragon Ball fans because, well, the multiverse has introduced various gods.
Goku would use his divine ki
From Dende to Zeno, the multiverse is full of them. Even Goku and Vegeta can use divine ki when they go Super Saiyan God, but there is something different about this new fighting style. Beerus doesn’t hesitate to classify the work that Goku is doing as divine, and that puts him on a new level of power.
The Dragon Balls ceiling question has been raised before, but with this new praise, fans are wondering where the series can go next. Beerus and Zeno wielded unimaginable power, making it difficult to know where Goku’s story can go if it reaches their level.
While there would be stories for Vegeta to experience, Dragon Ball is fundamentally focused on Goku, and he would have to find some innovative way to challenge the hero. And if that means continuing the story, fans would settle for just about any arc.
