Kangana Ranaut is one of the main actresses of Bollywood. She turned heads with her first film Gangster, directed by Anurag Basu. During her 15-year career, the actress has given several successful films like Queen, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

The 34-year-old actress has carved out a path for herself in the highly competitive film industry. She’s come a long way since the release of Gangster and added a lot of feathers to her cap. In her film career, she also turned down some good films like Vidya Balan, star of “The Dirty Picture”.

Kangana Ranaut now explains why she turned down the film and regrets making such a decision in retrospect. Speaking to Times Of India, the actress said: I think “The Dirty Picture,” as I have always said, turned out so wonderful! But I don’t think I would have done better than Vidya Balan because she was great in it. But yes, sometimes I feel like I don’t see the potential of this film. I was not given anything on the set.

The four-time National Award-winning actress added, “A dialogue in my next film says, ‘If life gave me an ounce, I gave it back a pound’ and likewise, I made so many of my offbeat films! I became a mainstream star from parallel or offbeat films only. I took full advantage of my opportunities, multiplied the result of my opportunities in another proportion. I’ve never done any of those conventional Rajkumar Hirani movies or Sanjay Leela Bhansali or even Dharma Productions, YRF or any of the Khan movies. I haven’t done any of that, but I’m the best leading actress who has made a name for herself. This is a case study in itself. Although I didn’t see the opportunity in “The Dirty Picture”, I don’t regret it. “

Recently, Kangana Ranaut also tweeted pointing out that if she was a village girl in Himachal Pradesh who did not know English, SRK was a privileged newcomer. She wrote: “15 years ago Gangster came out today, Shahrukh Khan ji and mine are the greatest achievements of all time, but SRK was from Delhi, educated in a convent and his parents were involved in movies, I didn’t know a single word of English, no education, came from a remote village in HP.
