Disneyland to become COVID-19 mass vaccination site – Deadline

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, much of which has been closed since the coronavirus pandemic began in March, will serve as the first super distribution point (POD) site for COVID-19 vaccines in Orange County.

The site is expected to become operational later this week, county officials said on Monday. Also on Monday, LA County announced that its Covid-19 mass testing operation at Dodger Station will be phased out this week so that the sports arena is transformed into a large-scale vaccination venue.

“The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD site – undertaking a monumental task in our vaccine distribution process,” said the Acting President Andrew Do, First District, in the County Announcement newspaper.

The site will have the capacity to immunize thousands of residents daily, depending on the county.
