EXCLUSIVE: Derek Webster (In the dark) and Taylor Handley (APB) were cast alongside Jeremy Renner and Dianne Wiest in the Paramount + drama series Mayor of Kingstown, of Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, Antoine Fuqua, 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios.
Co-created by Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family – powerful brokers to Kingstown, Michigan, where the incarceration business is the only thriving industry. Addressing the themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series offers a harsh look at their attempt to bring order and justice back to a city that has neither.
Webster will play Stevie, a policeman from Kingstown. Handley will play Kyle McClusky, a policeman trying to become a soldier. He is the youngest of McClusky’s sons and the brother of Mike McClusky (Renner), the mayor of Kingstown.
Wiest plays Miriam, the matriarch of the McLusky family. Webster and Handley also join previous cast Emma Laird who plays Iris, a dancer.
Executive production Mayor of Kingstown are Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Fuqua, David Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari and Michael Friedman. MTV Entertainment Studios, Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios will produce.
Webster is recurring on Fox 9-1-1: Lone Star like Gina Torres’ husband. He was previously a regular series on the CW In the dark and ABC Whispers and is known for his recurring roles on Showtime Ray donovan and CBS ‘ NCIS: New Orleans. Webster is taken over by AKA and Main Title Entertainment.
Handley was a series regular on CBS ‘ Vegas and Fox APB. He is replaced by Paradigm and Alan Siegel Entertainment.
