The actress is also one of only two Indian women to have honored the list.

Introducing the actress, Variety wrote: “Bollywood star Padukone produced and starred in ‘Chhapaak’, a social drama about an acid attack survivor that was released early last year. It was a change after the 2018 period blockbuster “Padmaavat”, in which she plays Queen Padmavati.

Speaking about her journey with the publication, Deepika said, “Fortunately, I never had to make decisions based on a movie’s budget or for a variety of other reasons. It also depends on where I am emotionally in my life. Many of my choices are dictated by this.
