EXCLUSIVE: In the first big cast of Rian Johnson’s next sequel to Knives out, Sources say Deadline Dave Bautista is set to join Daniel Craig in the next episode, which Netflix recently secured the rights to in a monumental deal. Deadline first announced in March that Netflix was closing a deal north of $ 400 million for the next two installments, a landmark deal for streamers. Johnson is back to write and shoot the photo and will be producing with partner Ram Bergman with Craig reprising the role of super detective Benoit Blanc.
Netflix has not commented.
Plot details are unknown at this time, other than Craig’s return to solve another mystery revolving around a large number of suspects. It’s also unclear who Bautista will play in the photo. Production is expected to start this summer in Greece.
Best known for his action-packed roles in the genre Guardians of the Galaxy and the next one Army of the dead, the latter role should give Bautista a fun chewy backdrop given the first Knives Out script which was full of funny characters and quick dialogue.
Netflix is well known for getting into big business with Bautista, set to star in Zack Snyder’s tentpole zombie photo Army of the dead, another film considered a possible franchise to the streamer. He is also set to star as Jason Momoa’s brother in the next season of Apple TV +. See.
He’s set to reprise his role as Drax in not one but two Marvel photos, Thor love and thunder, that he just finished filming and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III. He is replaced by CAA, Meisner Entertainment Group and lawyer Karl Austen.
