Chris Martin and Coldplay as a group were to critical acclaim and fame in 2000. But before that, life was pretty regular for Chris. In the 1990s, the 44-year-old worked in a supermarket. Recalling the same, the singer revealed an incident when he was accused of stealing £ 30.

It was Chris’ first day on the job when his boss accused him of stealing money. Back then, the singer kept his cool, but now he’s talking about not stealing anything.

Speaking to BBC Radio 2, Chris Martin said: “I used to work in a supermarket called Kwik Save in the late 1990s… I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and I don’t lottery so they put me on the liquor and cigarette counter where they sell scratch cards and that put me off a little.

Chris Martin added: “Only my manager would remember me from there, he accused me of stealing on day one. He said the checkout was £ 30 and that was not to happen again – and I didn’t care. I did not steal it – I would like to be registered.

Speaking of the pandemic, Chris said the past year has been a blessing in disguise as it has given him time to introspect.

“Last year was a revelation. I was like, ‘Who am I without Wembley Stadium, saying you’re awesome? I’m trying in my life right now not to get too attached to being a pop star. I try not to value myself through external validation. “

Meanwhile, Chris and Dakota Johnson have reportedly moved into a $ 12.5 million home in Malibu, which is only walking distance from the same private beach.
