She has been promoted to the new role of Executive Vice President of NBCUniversal West Coast to support all areas of the West Coast business and help position our business competitively for the future.

I continue to be proud of Cindy’s leadership since joining our team and am delighted that her passion and commitment now extends throughout the company. Cindy has been and will continue to be a trusted advisor, colleague and friend to our management team, and to many of you, and I am delighted that she is taking the next step in her NBCU career.

With this news, I am proud to announce that Evan Langweiler will now lead global communications for the Film group, which reports to me. I look forward to continuing to work with Cindy and Evan in their respective new roles.

Below is the note from Jeff Shell and Adam Miller.

Jeff and I wanted to share an interesting staff announcement with you. With immediate effect, Cindy Gardner has been promoted to an important new leadership role focused on all aspects of our presence on the West Coast.

As Senior Executive Vice President of NBCUniversal West Coast, Cindy will work with West Coast business leaders to implement strategies that help grow our business, be the home of the best talent, raise and protect our reputation and maintain and improve our external relationships.

Cindy has done an incredible job at NBCUniversal for 25 years, and her resourcefulness, connections, deep business knowledge and passion for our company – especially the Universal Bundle – make her the perfect fit to take on this new challenge. In this larger role, she will work to leverage all of our business operations for industry partners, employees, media, community and government officials.

She will report directly to me and have a dotted line at Jeff, but more importantly, she will be a true ally and advocate for all of our endeavors.

Throughout her career with the Company, Cindy has worked with several of our executives across the portfolio, including most notably and most recently with Donna Langley in charge of Global Communications for the Film Group, while still overseeing the corporate affairs team on the west coast.

When you consider the opportunities and challenges ahead for our organization – the rapidly changing industry, the need to strengthen the company’s position as a leading production and tourism destination in Los Angeles and deliver on the promise of the place. of work for tomorrow – we thought having a leader who was thinking about this in all of our west coast operations now made sense.

I know you will come to depend on his judgment and advice as we do.

Please join me in congratulating Cindy on this well-deserved promotion.
