EXCLUSIVE: Chris Downey, best known as the co-creator and executive producer of crime drama TNT Leverage, signed with APA for representation.
Currently, Downey serves as a consulting producer on Leverage: Redemption—The series’ relaunch by IMDBtv, which ran for five seasons – also as co-executive producer of David E. Kelly’s upcoming Netflix drama series, Lincoln Lawyer. Downey also has a second project in development at IMDBtv which is currently on hold.
Other executive producer TV credits include Station 19 (ABC), Pearson (UNITED STATES), Combinations (UNITED STATES), Unsolved: The Tupac Murders and the Notorious BIG (UNITED STATES), Incorporated (Syfy), and King and Maxwell (TNT). Downey has also developed several projects for NBC, Fox and CBS.
Before embarking on a career in entertainment, Downey was a criminal defense lawyer and journalist. The first projects he worked on, after his career transition, were half-hour comedies like Lateline and And Joan?. He also worked on the CBS comedy The king of queens for six seasons, as executive producer on the last three.
