The departure of Regé-Jean Page from the hit Netflix series Bridgerton still confuses fans, but Carey Mulligan found the truth, or at least what she thinks is the truth, behind her outing in the last Saturday Night Live.
Mulligan, who made it SNL On Saturday, joined Chris Redd, Aidy Bryant and Kenan Thompson for a trivia game sketch. Thompson’s half-vaccinated emcee hosted “What’s Wrong With This Picture,” a game where contestants figure out what is wrong with a number of displayed images.
In the first round, participants were asked to identify that the clock in the image presented showed letters instead of numbers. However, to the host’s dismay, competitors found incorrect issues with the image. After two more rounds, the contestants all looked desperate – until Mulligan’s contestant Sandra finally gave Thompson’s host something to work with.
The final image showed a woman having her hair cut. Mulligan discovered that the woman’s haircut did not match what was reflected in the mirror, much to Thompson’s excitement. However, there was something else about the picture – the hairdresser looked like the Bridgerton Star.
“The hairstyles don’t match and Regé-Jean is cutting the hair now, which is why he left Bridgertown,” Mulligan said.
Page, who brought home BridgertonFirst acting award at the NAACP Image Awards earlier this moth, starred in the Netflix series as Duke of Hastings Simon Bassett. He acted opposite Phoebe Dynever, who played Daphne Bridgerton.
Mulligan did it Saturday Night Live will debut after fellow Briton and fellow Oscar nominee Daniel Kaluuya. Oscar nominees Promising young woman featured alongside musical guest Kid Cudi.
