Buzzy Cohen to be guest host of the 2021 Tournament of Champions – Deadline

Buzzy Cohen will return to Peril! stage to host the 2021 Tournament of Champions.

Airing May 17-28, the annual Tournament of Champions will see fifteen competitors compete for a grand prize of $ 250,000, which will be matched and awarded to the Hope of the Valley Trebek Center for Homelessness.

Cohen, who made his Jeopardy! debuted in 2016 and won over $ 164,603 in nine games, competed in the 2017 Tournament of Champions. In 2019 he returned to Peril! as team captain for the show’s All-Star Games. Since the hosting duties will require Cohen to work closely with the longtime quiz writers and producers, he will no longer be eligible to participate in regular tournaments.

“Buzzy has been where each of these champions are located, so it will be heartwarming for contestants to see a familiar face behind the lectern,” said Mike Richards, executive producer of Peril!. “We will miss seeing him compete, but we can’t wait to see how he uses his quick wit and personality as a guest host.”

The Tournament of Champions includes the participants who won the most matches between the last Tournament of Champions and the end of 2020, as well as the most recent winners of the Teachers’ Tournament and the University Championship.
