BTS ‘Butter breaks Dynamite’s 101.1 million YouTube views in less than 24 hours: Bollywood News

To simply say that BTS’s new single ‘Butter’ is a summer bop of the year would be an understatement. On April 26, a countdown began on BTS’s BangtanTV channel where fans around the world watched the butter melt on their screens for an hour. At the end, the second English title of BTS ‘Butter’ was revealed and the song is released on May 21. After a lot of anticipation, several teasers and concept clips, the clip dropped and well, it was quite an experience.

It’s been over a year since BTS released their very first English single ‘Dynamite’ which propelled them to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won their first Grammy nomination in the Top Duo / Group category. Now, with the new dance-pop track, BTS has broken the YouTube record for its retro-themed disco track. It’s only BTS vs BTS. The clip recorded 101.2 million views around 6:39 a.m. IST on May 22, in less than 24 hours, surpassing the previous record set by them.

The video clip of ‘Butter’ already had over 3.89 million simultaneous viewers before release and within an hour it had surpassed 21 million views. Now he has again racked up over 55 million views on YouTube in 10 hours and 16 minutes, breaking the record for ‘Dynamite’.

A range of musicians including Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, Ron Perry, Jenna Andrews, Alex Bilowitz and Sebastian Garcia lent a hand to write the song. Frontman RM also helped produce the track to add BTS’s signature style. ‘Butter’ is a dance-pop track that easily becomes listeners’ favorite earworm, with its distinctive baseline and crisp synth sounds. Sometimes sweet and sometimes charismatic, the duality of BTS they claim [it all] at [my] mother ”will melt the hearts of listeners. The witty, fun lyrics bursting with bright, positive energy will instantly uplift moods.

‘Dynamite’ had become the fastest music video in YouTube history to garner 100 million views. The platform confirmed on August 23, 2020 that the song had 101.1 million views in its first 24 hours, setting the record for the most watched music video in YouTube history. With this song, they made history by becoming the first Korean group to reach No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The band will play ‘Butter’ for the first time at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on May 23. They are nominated for four categories for this year’s awards – Best Duo / Group, Best Artist in Song Sales, Best Social Artist and Best Selling Song. BTS is also kicking off the Good Morning America summer concert series on May 28.
