Brittany Adebumola, Jaye Ladymore and Amarr Wooten join CW series – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Brittany Adebumola (Great Army), Jaye Ladymore (Chi) and Amarr Wooten (Pollock in black and white) are defined as regular series in 4400 (fka The 4400), The CW’s reimagining of the 2004 USA Network sci-fi drama series.

4400 Just Riverdale co-executive producer Ariana Jackson and Anna Fricke, who rebooted successfully Walker, Texas Ranger for the CW.

In the new version, 4400 neglected, undervalued or otherwise marginalized people – including two played by Joseph David-Jones and Khailah Johnson – who have disappeared without a trace over the past hundred years are all fired in an instant, not having aged by one day and with no memory of what happened to them. As the government rushes to analyze the potential threat and contain the story, the 4400 themselves must grapple with the fact that they were fired with some … improvements and the increasing likelihood that they will have all been brought back now for a specific reason.

Adebumola will play Shanice, a driven lawyer, wife and new mother of the year 2005 who is suddenly transported to 2021 only to find her daughter is now a teenager. She will be a strong advocate for anyone like her who is trying to figure out what happened to them.

Ladymore will play Claudette, the wife of a 1950s preacher who was active during the early days of the civil rights movement. She’s surprisingly quick to adjust to 2021 and realizes that she might be a whole different person in this new era – surprisingly and consistently.

Wooten is Hayden, who arrives in 2021 from the 1930s where he was held in an institution. Perhaps due to an unpleasant past he doesn’t seem to speak, but he’s compassionate and seems to have insight and knowledge of things he couldn’t have known.

Jackson wrote the pilot episode, which will be directed / co-produced by Erica Watson. The executive producers of the series are Jackson, Fricke and Laura Terry. CBS Studios, which was behind the original series, is the studio.

Adebumola reappeared as Tamika Jones in hit Netflix series Great Army. She is replaced by CESD Talent Agency, Authentic Talent & Literary Management and Schreck Rose.

Ladymore began his career on the Chicago theater scene, including The Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Steppenwolf, and The Writers Theater. She made her television debut in season 1 of Chi and also had recurring roles on Empire, Chicago PD and Innocent proven. She can be seen in feature films An acceptable loss and Kill Eleanor. Ladymore is replaced by Stewart Talent.

Wooten’s credits include Colin in black and white, american housewife and Squad of knights. It is taken over by The Osbrink Agency, Vault Entertainment and Fox Rothschild.
