Brazilian Fantaspoa reveals first half of 2021 schedule – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: South America’s largest genre film festival, Fantaspoa, has unveiled the first half of its program for its seventeenth edition, April 9-18. Scroll through the entire list.

Like last year, the festival was forced to take place online due to the ongoing pandemic. It will be held completely free with movies available to stream in Brazil through a renewed partnership with Brazilian horror streaming service Darkflix. Last year’s event drew over 67,000 viewers. Although the films are geolocated and limited to 3,000 spectators per screening, Q&A and workshops will be available around the world.

There are 25 feature films confirmed to date, including three world premieres, five international premieres and 10 Latin American premieres. The titles come from previous festivals including San Sebastian, Rotterdam and Toronto.
