Black Widow, one year delays due to coronavirus

Marvel and Disney had to delay the release of Black Widow, Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” and other films to be delayed for up to a year.

Black Widow had to be delayed until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic; Disney announced that the delay of this film in 2020 is the first year in which there will be no film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since 2009, the year following the premiere of Iron Man 1.

The new official release date is May 7, 2021, which represents an entire year backlog for the release of the film, which was originally scheduled for May 1, 2020, and had already been pushed back to May 6, November.

Steven Spielberg’s next film, “West Side Story” was also affected by the pandemic, as it will also have to wait a year to be released, with a new date set for December 10, 20201, a film that was scheduled to be released on 18 December 2020.

Marvel’s Eternals is also delayed

Disney also announced the delay of Marvel’s Eternals that it was going to premiere on November 6 and then moved to February 2, 2021, but had to modify its schedule again until November 5, 2021.

Other moves include the star-studded Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile, which runs from the October 23 to December 18 release, practically swapping dates with The Empty Man, which now takes the October 23 spot. Those two are the only Disney movies still to be released in 2020.

This has definitely not been the best year for Disney-Marvel and its big releases, including the unfortunate premiere of Mulan, which came directly to Disney Plus, after it was originally announced for theaters on July 24 of this year.

DIsney and Marvel recently revealed the teaser for their original series “Wandavision”, which will hit the streaming platform in December 2020, one of the consolations for fans of this cinematic universe that is entering its second and probably mind-blowing phase, although with delays.
